Definitive spectroscopic orbital elements of the double-line eclipsing binary in the massive triple system IU Aur are combined with a previously determined photometric orbit to infer the absolute dimensions of the more and less massive components. The distance and reddening of the system are computed and used together with spectrophotometric data to determine the radii and luminosities for two models under five different sets of assumptions. A method is outlined for taking the presence of a third body into account, and the space motions of the system are examined. The results obtained for a binary model based on the photometric orbit indicate that: (1) the more massive component is of spectral type B0p and has a mass of 17.4 solar masses, a radius of 5.0 solar radii, and an absolute magnitude of -2.8; (2) the less massive component is of spectral type B0.5 and has a mass of 11.8 solar masses, a radius of 8.5 solar radii, and an absolute magnitude of -3.8; and (3) the component separation is 19.2 solar radii. It is also found that the more massive component is eclipsed at primary minimum and that the less massive component appears to be overflowing its Roche lobe.
