ROSAT and ASCA have revealed a rich variety of quasars and AGN with highly obscured nuclei. In many cases X-ray spectra are sensitive to material that is otherwise invisible. We shall obtain prototype spectra of the brightest source of each type. PHL5200, a Broad Absorption Line Quasar (BALQSO), z=1.98; PHL 6625 is a z=0.38 Quasar absorbed by the foreground galaxy NGC247; 3C212 is a red quasar with a weakly ionized absorber; 3C351 has a high ionization absorber.
