A solution of the Einstein field equations is found for the case of a massive particle at rest in a universe which without the particle would be homogeneous, isotropic, and spatially flat. The presence of the particle does not affect the mass density but does change the pressure of the cosmic matter. The metric is expanded in terms of a small parameter. The motion of a test particle, described by the geodesic equations, is compared with that given by Newton's equations if the particle speed is very small compared to that of light. The comparison is made using two different sets of coordinates. In each case it is found that one gets agreement with Newton's equations of motion only if certain inequalities hold.
