Incomplete arc rings orbiting Neptune have been discovered from the ground, and have been recently observed by the Voyager spacecraft. The possible models accounting for the stability of the three dense arc structures embedded in the faint 63,000 km ring are reviewed. These different models are discussed both from a purely theoretical point of view, and in relation to observations of Neptune's ring system. Subsequently, other dynamical aspects of the Neptune ring system are analyzed including timescales for dynamical repulsion of the rings in the radial direction by nearby shepherding moons and the energy liberated by this process. An attempt is made to assess what may be special about the dynamical environment of Neptune's 63 K ring and how such an environment may be responsible for the unusual azimuthal structure observed in this ring.
