The amount of FUV nonlinear rise in the interstellar extinction curve is
found to be proportional to the CH abundance in the line of sight. The
CH(+) abundance shows, if any, a negative trend with the FUV nonlinear
rise. Implications for the carrier of the FUV nonlinear rise are
discussed.
