The authors have detected 12CO emission in the core of the giant H II region 30 Doradus in the LMC. The observed CO profiles are found to be much narrower than that of the ionized gas and it is unlikely that the molecular and atomic gas are well mixed within the nebula. The implications of these results to other giant extragalactic H II regions are discussed.
