The EGRET source catalog contains a variety of gamma-ray sources coincident with young neutron stars and supernova remnants. While in a few cases this emission is pulsed and thus originates from the pulsar magnetosphere, many other such sources have spatial, spectral and temporal properties which rule out this possibility. In these cases, the gamma-ray emission appears to result from the interaction of supernova remnants and pulsar winds with their environments. I will review the possible emission mechanisms for these gamma-ray sources, and will discuss how new GLAST data can be combined with existing radio, X-ray and TeV measurements to reveal how magnetic fields and energetic particles are generated in these systems.
