A sample of 18 distant ( 0.25 The results obtained indicate the possible existence of X-ray sources (possibly AGN given their X--ray luminosity ranging from 1042 to 1044 erg s-1) belonging to the cluster: on average one every three clusters. Differently from previous studies which have mainly investigated the point source population in the vicinity of the galaxy clusters, the present study analyzes the content of point sources only within the 1 Mpc region covered by the cluster extent.
