It is noted that the radio source Sag A-West in the galactic nucleus has a synchotron nature and that the output of relativistic particles produced within this source is of the order of 10 to the 40th power erg/sec. It is proposed that the source of this energy is most likely the accretion of interstellar gas onto a massive black hole (approximately 30,000 solar masses) which constitutes the galactic nucleus.
