Results of numerical experiments are presented which sugggest the possibility of the trigger initiation of Rayleigh-Taylor irregularities in the equatorial ionosphere via the injection of plasma-removing compounds which form positive and negative ions. An elevated stimulation efficiency of compounds forming negative ions is revealed in comparison with compounds forming positive ions. The mass and height chasracteristics for the stimulated development of Rayleigh-Taylor irregularities are determined.
