We present results from fitting simple analytic models to GRB pulse profiles and spectral evolution patterns. This simple analytic model is derived from first principles based on the Liang-Kargatis spectral decay law and the hardness-intensity correlations of Golenetski, Kargatis and Ryde. Using the database from these model fittings we proceed to constrain the burst emission model allowing for relativistic kinematic effects. We show that the BATSE data can be used to tightly constrain most popular emission models.
