The mechanism of twin planet formation is applied to stars constituting a dense and galactic nucleus, and it is shown how stars are born grouped in clusters or pairs, while some of the simple stars are accompanied by planetary systems. This star formation mechanism is based on the interactions taking place between ultramassive and unstable O-type stars. It accounts for the properties of stellar populations I and II and significantly simplifies stellar evolution and the H-R diagram. A consequence of the theory is that planetary systems are associated with half of the simple stars, or 20 per cent of the galactic stars, which is supported so far by observations of stars near the sun.
