Hill's equation is considered as a particular case of the Lame equation. A change of variable is used to transform it to the Ince equation, and the solutions are given in the neighborhood of the poles. Comparisons with the periodic solutions of the Ince equation by Magnus and Winkler are used to find the development in Fourier series of periodic solution in functions of one variable and to deduce the development of solutions of the Hill equation as functions of another variable.
