There are some cases of prominence appearances during the ancient
eclipses in 1375 and 1328 BC and 1105 and 1165, 1239 AD. The red colour
of the total solar eclipses in 1361, 1386 and 1605 AD was noted. All
these phenomena were observed at the epochs of high solar activity.
