The present study discusses high linear polarization (up to 5-8 percent) discovered in the deep minima of isolated AE-Herbig stars within the framework of the 'zodiacal light' model produced by scattering matter in a circumstellar dust envelope. The numerical simulations of polarizational and colorimetrical properties of the scattered light based on the Mie theory make it possible to obtain from the observations some important parameters of circumstellar dust: the size distribution of grains, their rough chemical composition (silicate/graphite), and the flatness of the dust envelope. The position angle of polarization in deep minima is used to determine the symmetry axis projection of the circumstellar disk on the sky relative to the direction of the local interstellar magnetic field.
