Positions and proper motions of 165 stars in the field of the globular cluster M 12 (NGC 6218) have been determined using 20 plates covering a time interval of about 85 years. Membership probability for each star was derived from the proper motions. These data show a good segregation of cluster and field stars. For ten of the 13 UV-bright stars the proper motion membership result agrees with conclusions from radial velocities as given by Harris et al. (1983).
