I will review the implications of TeV observations on the spectral energy density of extragalactic background light (EBL). Gamma-rays from extragalactic GeV and TeV sources are attenuated via pair production with the EBL, thus providing a probe into many of the uncertainties in our understanding of the galactic and star formation histories, as well as into the interaction of light with dust. It has been claimed recently that the predictions of models of galaxy formation together with measurements of the spectral properties of nearby AGN at TeV energies suggest a crisis in our understanding, since they require intrinsic spectra of gamma ray blazars that are inconsistent with synchrotron self-Compton models and X-ray observations of these objects. I will show that careful interpretation of the observed attenuation features in the TeV spectra allows for the accommodation of a wide variety of traditional EBL and AGN models, and argue that there has never been an ``IR-TeV'' crisis based on our observations which would suggest evidence for the breaking of Lorenz invariance, or even the need for models explaining unusual features in the intrinsic spectra of TeV blazars.
