We report on Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) observations of anomalous X-ray pulsars (AXPs). The nature of AXPs has been a mystery for over 20 years; currently the leading model is that they are ``magnetars,'' highly magnetized young neutron stars. We have been monitoring the five known AXPs regularly with RXTE for five years on a roughly monthly basis, in an effort to better characterize their rotational, pulsed flux, and pulse morphology stability. The ultimate goal is to test, or at least better constrain, the magnetar model. In this talk, we will report on the latest results on a variety of analyses of the RXTE data, including continued phase-coherent timing, pulsed flux and pulse morphology monitoring as well as a search for X-ray bursts similar to those seen in the soft-gamma-repeaters.
