After extensive upgrades, both CDF and DZero experiments at the Tevatron have started Run 2, which is expected to deliver 2 fb-1 of data. This round of data taking has a broad physics program with the main emphasis on properties of the newly discovered top quark. This talk will discuss the detectors' performance and show first physics results. Both collaborations are intrigued by the possibility of discovering the Higgs boson in the future running. This will require an integrated luminosity of at least 15 fb-1. To achieve this goal, accelerator and detector upgrades are needed. In this talk I will discuss the upgrades planned by the DZero and CDF collaborations, with the main emphasis on silicon tracking systems.
