Liberal arts colleges offer challenging and exciting opportunties for physicists with a commitment to teaching undergraduates at all levels of the curriculum. Examples of successful job applications, attractive faculty development opportunities, and innovative interdisciplinary teaching possibilities will be reviewed. Many colleges encourage or require that their physics faculty members maintain active research programs which involve their students in summer projects or year-long investigations. Bright students, significant institutional resources for start-up funding and specially targeted federal and foundation grants make teaching and research a productive and rewarding combination. A broad support network exists to encourage and nurture new faculty members in college science departments. The Council on Undergraduate Research, Project Kaleidoscope, and foundations with interests targetted to this sector have programs of particular benefit and interest. There are several clear strategies for successfully applying for jobs in liberal arts colleges; and there are many ways to avoid the inevitable pitfalls of interviews and jobs.
