An equation system of diffusive variables is derived for a study of an ambipolar diffusion in the regions with a low degree of ionization. The principal reasons for generation of ambipolar diffusion in the region of the temperature minimum region of the Sun are discussed. Estimations of characteristic velocities of ambipolar diffusion in some magnetostatic features are given. It is noted that the diffusion time for small-scale sunspot elements, magnetic knots and moustaches is comparable with their life-times.
