I-band imaging of the G337.0-0.1 region [1] limited by the IPN annulus
reported by Hurley [2] were obtained on 25 June 1998, just 7.2-hr prior
to a burst detected by Ulysses and Konus. A comparison image was
obtained in late August 1998. No variable source was detected above a
limiting magnitude of I~20. .
