The problem discussed is to determine an antenna in which either the radiated beam is to be scanned over a sector of space or several fixed beams are to be radiated simultaneously. The dual reflector coma-corrected Schwarzschild antenna is analyzed, evaluating the antenna performance by considering the received mode of operation and the efficiency determined by field correlation techniques. An interesting result of the analysis is the close resemblance of the Schwarzschild reflector profiles to those of the paraboloid-hyperboloid Cassegrain antenna.
