Results of UBVR polarimetry of eight classical and five peculiar Be stars, which was carried out in 1989, are presented. Most of the polarization spectra of classical Be stars can be explained by electron scattering in a gaseous envelope, taking into account its selective opacity and the contribution of the intrinsic emission. Dust envelopes play a significant role in the formation of the peculiar Bep star polarization. Almost all the objects studied exhibit a significant spectral variability of polarization, which is chiefly due to the variation of the total amount and to the redistribution of the scattering matter. Lambda Eri exhibited variability, which may be a sign of a magnetic field with B of about 100 G, and HD 163296 showed anomalous variations of the polarization spectrum.
