This exploding fireball (bolide) displayed a number of remarkable (although not unique) phenomena. Estimates of the end height (23 km) and end velocity (2 to 5 km/sec) of the luminous trajectory are low values strongly favoring the survival of meteoritic fragments, which most likely landed in or near the Moyeha Valley of west-central Vancouver Island.
