The International Sun/Earth Explorer 3 (ISEE) 3 gamma-ray burst (GRB) data are analyzed for cosmic and solar events. The ISEE 3 data are compared to an inter and an extragalactic source model. The satellite data agree best with the galactic model of thermonuclear runaway initiated by carbon detonation after the accretion of matter onto a neutron star. A GRB classification based on time structure similarities is proposed: spikes, singles, doubles, and multiples. Three of the solar GRB's come from the same flaring region and have high cross correlation coefficients. This suggests that the flare phenomenon is not catastrophic for the magnetic field configurations involved. The increasing temperature in the region of trapped plasma after the electron injection causes shrinking at the rising flank of the event as event absolute maximum approaches. For homologous events, a 1 day recharging period is indicated. Events either have decay times faster than 10 sec or slower than 20 sec. No such trend is seen in rise times.
