The distribution of monthly counts of grouped solar flares N(f) has been studied for the time period 1967-1985 and they have been compared to other solar activity indices. Seasonal variations have been found in the monthly distribution of solar flares. The variation of the correlation coefficient for every year between N(f) and R(z) for the time period 1967-1985 is studied. The distribution of monthly counts of grouped solar flares is also compared to the number at high velocity solar-wind streamers for the same period.
