On the basis of non-LTE calculations, it is shown that the Na abundance
in late G and K giants in the neighborhood of the sun is not conditioned
by the effect of deviation from LTE. Instead, the Na abundance is
conditioned by evolutionary processes. The Na abundances of eight K
giants are specified.
