Close binary systems with both components in the luminosity class V are studied, taking into account the geometric and photometric effects of observational selection. The current mass distributions of both components have been obtained and the star formation function has been estimated. The star formation function can be represented by a power law that is similar to the star formation function for the primary components of close binary systems obtained by Karicheva et al. (1978).
