It is suggested that absorption in the 0.32-0.5 micron range in the upper part of the Venus cloud layer is due to NH3-SO2, formed as a result of the reaction between NH3 and SO2 in the gas phase. The conditions of formation of the NH3-SO2 are investigated, and attention is given to the implications of this reaction for the upper part of the Venus cloud layer.
