The structure of force-free, line-tied MHD equilibria inside a closed conducting shell with simple magnetic boundary conditions is studied. A measure of complexity of the field is introduced, and it is found that even relatively simple equilibria may have singular currents. These findings are in agreement with Parker's suggestions for a mechanism for dissipation of magnetic field energy of the solar corona.
