The calibration of metal-poor LMC-cluster RR Lyraes is conducted using a value for the distance to the LMC that is based on more established data. A total of 182 RR Lyrae variables are examined by means of CCD photometry, and the mean magnitude for the variables is 0.44 at Fe/H = -1.9. The value is shown to be brighter than those suggested by statistical parallax analyses of the objects and therefore has important implications for Galactic distances.
