Until recently, the S-factor S_17(0) for the ^7Be(p,γ)^8B reaction contributed the largest single uncertainty to solar model calculations of the neutrino flux from decay of ^8B in the Sun. A new experiment(A.R. Junghans et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 88), 041101-1 (2002), and to be published, together with other recent experiments, is leading to a much-improved determination of S_17(0). The importance of this result for neutrino physics will be discussed.
