A sample of 137 spiral galaxies found by Abell centered on the Coma cluster has been analyzed. The existence of small groups of spirals is suggested on the basis of the angular two point correlation function. A virial-theorem analysis of six of the groups for which sufficient velocity data was available suggests that at least five of the 20 groups are real gravitationally bound systems. Luminosities and tidal radii were then derived and were used to compute (M/L)Coma/(M/L)group for each group. Upper limits on the mass of the Coma cluster were then derived. The results are consistent with the hypothesis that the groups were tidally limited at an earlier epoch and that the groups are now expanding away from the cluster. The implied mass of Coma agrees with virial-theorem determinations to within a factor of 2.
