The IRAS satellite detected and obtained photometric measurements in the far-infrared for more than 265000 point sources in 1983. These measurements at 12, 25, 60, and 100 microns include approximately 7000 sources which have positional associations with objects in the 4th edition of the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (GCVS). Thus, the IRAS database contains the largest homogeneous collection of photometry and positions of variable stars ever accumulated. In an effort to make this important data more readily available we have constructed the IRAS Catalogue of Variable Sources (ICVS). This catalogue brings together in one data file the IRAS determined positions and fluxes plus key data from the GCVS for all known variable stars detected by the IRAS satellite. An additional 1300 objects are included in the catalogue which did not have positional associations with GCVS sources, but which were determined to be variable based on repeated measurements of the same source by the satellite. Many of these s Sources are likely to be previously undetected variable stars. A statistical summary of the catalogue will be presented which will include the types and numbers of objects represented in the catalogue. We will also present far-infrared color-color plots for some representative types of variable stars plus examples of time-variability plots for some of the more heavily observed sources. This research is supported by NASA grant NAG 5-1621.
