The Burst and Transient Source Experiment(BATSE) on board the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory(GRO) is being used to search for small solar flares. The BATSE Large Area Discriminators have a large surface area making them sensitive to small events. The data have been searched for small flares(<50 keV) using an automated algorithm which takes advantage of the BATSE burst location capabilities. This allows for an independent confirmation of the solar origin of the bursts. We present the preliminary results of a search for small flares in the first three months of BATSE data.
