High-resolution near-infrared observations of the forbidden C I 1S0-1D2 transition (8727 A) were performed at 18 positions across the Orion Nebula by using a tilting-filter Fabry-Perot photometer. The absolute fluxes are examined with reference to possible line emission in the boundary zones between H I and H II regions, and they are compared with other experimental results.
