Standard synoptic solar magnetic field maps are diachronic, i.e. they show an idealized full-Sun magnetic field where each longitude is observed at a different time. In addition, at most latitudes the entire surface is not represented because of differential rotation. We construct synchronic maps for a particular time by stretching the synoptic maps to account for differential rotation. We construct synchronic frames by replacing large portions of the complete map with measurements from a single magnetogram. Some fraction of the polar field cannot be observed during most of the year, so a spatial and temporal interpolation/extrapolation must be made to complete the full-Sun map. Typically the total net flux for a full map in non zero. We compare synoptic and synchronic maps and frames that include interpolated polar field corrections from SOHO/MDI and SDO/HMI. We compare the results of global field models applied to the maps and discuss issues.
