New models for the spectra of Seyfert 1 galaxies and QSOs have been constructed, based on the ionization and temperature structure of the transition zone predicted by a standard photoionization model for QSO clouds, which include many more Fe(+) levels than previous models. The models are used to investigate the variation of Fe II emission in three wavelength regions as a function of conditions in the transition zone. The fit of the model to two QSO spectra and one Seyfert spectrum is shown, and it is concluded that the fits are generally good.
