Mars fell dry on a global scale by 3.5 Ga ago, but there has been
episodic volcanic, hydrothermal, fluvial, and glacial activity
throughout the whole history of Mars though declining in magnitude
through time in the past, becoming confined more and more to certain
regions or locales.
