A numerical method is suggested for derivation of the source function
from an analysis of brightness distribution across a stellar disk in the
case of an extended spherical atmosphere and known depth dependence of
the volume absorption coefficient. The dependence of precision and
stability of the solution on stochastic noise is examined.
