It has been suggested that the interactions which occur among galaxies may trigger bursts of star formation, taking into account the role of molecular clouds in star formation. Studies of the molecular gas in galaxies in groups or clusters will help elucidate the effects of galaxy environment on star formation. The present investigation is concerned with observations of the 2.6 mm CO line in the Leo triplet. The Leo triplet is a nearby well-known group of galaxies. In connection with the current investigation, CO emission in NGC 3627 and NGC 3628 was detected and mapped. No CO was detected in NGC 3623 or in the plume. Since these galaxies are all at the same distance, their relative CO contents are determined with no ambiguity, allowing direct comparison of the masses of molecular gas in galaxies over a range of Hubble types.
