A mechanism of magnetic flux loss from mostly convective stellar models is explicitly demonstrated in response to the Piddington (1982) critique of stellar dynamo theory which rejects the widespread acceptance of the concept of turbulent resistivity and the associated, enhanced decay of large scale magnetic fields. It is noted that, even without appealing to enhanced turbulent resistivity, it is possible topologically for a convective star to lose a large part of its magnetic flux.
