A reevaluation of precession formulas for use in the calculation of astronomical ephemerides beginning in 1984 is presented. Account is taken of the luni-solar perturbation in the dynamical equations and a geodetic expression is retained. Errors arising from the neglect of the lunar secular perturbation terms are analyzed. Finally, expressions are defined for all coefficients for a system of astronomical constants for the epoch 2000.0.
