The VLA has been used to map the continuum emission distribution of the radio source Sgr A at 6 and 20 cm, with a resolution of 5 x 8 arcsec. These maps are then used to obtain the spectral index distribution over Sgr A. A mapping resolution of 2 x 3 arcsec is achieved at 2 cm for the region near Sgr A West, where the thermal source has a spiral shape, with the compact point source close to, but not exactly coincident with, the peak in the thermal emission. A diffuse, nonthermal component is also present in Sgr A West, and the maps confirm the existence of a shell-shaped source with a nonthermal spectral index designated Sgr A East. Farther east from this source there exists a small cluster of compact thermal sources. Possible interpretations of these results are discussed.
