Ultraviolet, optical, and infrared spectroscopy of three Parkes quasars
is presented. From a discussion of the Lyman-, Balmer-, and Paschen line
ratios the role of classical recombination theory and dust reddening for
the interpretation of quasar spectra is assessed.
