Different statistical methods are used to analyze the various possible effects of the solar activity, geomagnetic activity, and meteorological factors on the winter anomaly in the ionospheric absorption of radio waves. The delta f(min) events are found to be well related to the delta F, and many noon f(min) events are found to follow the strong SID events, especially in summer. The results indicate that the meteorological factors are a better explanation for the anomaly than the geomagnetic factor. The temperature deviation from the 11-day running average is found to increase after f(min) events without SID, attaining maximum four days after the event days. This result is in reasonable agreement with theory concerning vertical propagation of planetary waves from the stratosphere.
