Scientific paper

Starting from the cold plasma dispersion relation of left-hand-polarized
ion cyclotron waves propagating parallel to the external magnetic field
in a multi-ion component plasma, the heating rate of each ion species is
calculated for various parameters of the plasma properties and wave
spectrum with implication to the heating of solar wind ions.
