Narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxies form a distinct subclass of
Seyfert 1 galaxies. Optical spectroscopic and X-ray spectral and timing
results on NLS1 and the plausible underlying physical parameters thought
to be responsible for the observed properties are discussed.
