Following Hankins and Cordes (1981), the single-pole model for pulsar is further developed, assuming the magnetic axis to be nearly aligned to the rotation axis. The model accounts for the observed fact that the main pulse to interpulse separation is less than 180°, and independent to frequency. It also explains why interpulses tend to occur in short period pulsars and at low frequencies.
